The Building’s Journey
1904 – The Binghamton Press
The former Press Building, designed by architect T.I. Lacey & Son, was built in 1904 to be the home of Willis Sharpe Kilmer’s newspaper. He insisted that this be the tallest structure in Binghamton, a distinction it would hold for 70 years until the State Office Building was constructed in 1972.
2007 – Professional Tower Building
For several years the building was vacant showing signs of past abuse and neglect. Extensive renovations were done and the building reopened in late 2007 as an office building. The building’s name was then changed to the Professional Towers Building.
2013 — The Printing House
In 2013, the building was converted into the beautiful residential property it is today — The Printing House. The name was selected as an homage to the building’s origins and a celebration of Binghamton history.
